"Rematriation is the Indigenous women-led process of returning to the "sacred Mother" by restoring Indigenous relationships with ancestral lands, cultures, and spiritual ways of life, moving beyond simple land ownership to honour matrilineal systems. It focuses on reclaiming traditional knowledge and stewardship, often referred to as "returning the sacred to the mother".
